She ran a hand through her already messy hair, leaving streaks of anxiety across her forehead. Her phone buzzed, and she jumped, nearly dropping it. It was a message to her brother: *"Just waiting. He's okay, hopefully. Thinking of you."* Except, the message had gone to her ex, Mark. He hadn't responded, but that didn't stop the knot in her stomach from tightening. She deleted the thread, hoping it erased the error from reality itself.
